To find out your face shape measure in the following places:

1. Measure across your forehead at the widest point.
2. Measure across the top of your cheekbones.
3. Measure across the widest point of your jaw line.
4. Measure from the tip of your hair line to the bottom of your chin.

Oval Face Shape

This is the most flattering face shape. You are an oval if the length equals 1 and 1/2 times the width of your face. The hairline is slightly wider than the jaw line. You have great cheekbones. You can wear a variety of styles as your face shape is proportionally balanced.

Tips

• Your face is most flattering when it is pulled back to show off your great features.
• When parting your hair try a centre or side part.
• A straight cut fringe will shorten your face; a sweeping fringe will look best.
• Avoid wearing styles that cover your face.
• You can wear many styles of sunglasses but ensure you wear frames which are as wide as the broadest part of your face

Round Face Shape

You have a round face if the length and the width of your face are almost equal. You have a wide forehead, big cheeks and a rounded chin.

 

Tips

• To elongate your face shape try necklines that are a V shape
• Choose drop earrings that are slim and long
• Wear long thin necklaces
• Avoid anything circular close to your face
• Choppy and layered, or long and straight hair look best.

Oblong Face

 

Tips

• To widen your face try necklines that have a wide neck such as a scoop or boat neckline
• Avoid necklines that are deep and jewellery which is long and slim around your face as it will only make your face appear longer
• Wear necklaces and earrings that are round and delicate to soften your face.
• Wear sunglasses that have wide frames.
• Hairstyles that are short to medium length look best on you
• Opt for hair cuts that will give you fullness at the side of your face such as short wispy layers.

• To lengthen your face wear deep necklines with a round edge such as a scoop neck to soften your angular features
• For jewellery, wear long curved circular earrings and necklaces which are long
• Tops with trims and soft romantic detail/features will suit your face
• Hairstyles which are medium to long in length with layers around the face will soften your look
• Round oval style sunglasses will look best and soften your face

• Hooped earrings look great on you and short necklaces with some detail will balance the shape of your face
• Bob hair styles look great on you as it adds fullness to your chin
